Is a heating pad, 18 reptisun 10.0 tube and 50w heat bulb overkill for a 48 by 24 by 18 semi elite cage? www dot crittercondoz dot com I plan on purchasing two baby redfoots.
Rick
Wiggles:
No heating pad, no UV light. Get a 75w to 100W heat emitter.

I have a 2 year old red foot and was wondering what was the best way to keep humidity without being soggy? i am using coconut husk as substrate and i have a zoomed fogger. Also when she breathes from time to time i hear a whistle coming from it. Should i be concerned?
Thanks

For the last two days, my red foot (NOAH) has had diarrhea, a grayish foul smelling.
He is still very active, and I was wondering if there was anything I could do to help him. He is 3 yrs old and seems fine otherwise.
Thanks so much
Karmen

We have redfoots here in Bali Indonesia. They do quite well here, its the exact opposite side of the world from where they originate but the climate here is pretty close to ideal for them. http://satwaunik.com

I have a 5 year old named sammy. I have a question. I know pyramiding is unhealthy for the tortoise, but if he has small rises is that natural and okay? Or what can prevent pyramiding efficiently? Thanks.

As a director of the New England Herpetological Society, with 25 years of experience I have received 7 animals and have been pleasantly surprised with each animal. All have arrived on time, in full, and 100%. I will continue to do business with Turtletary and encourage my own clients to.

I just received my 5 month old hatchling, Stagger Lee, from Terry yesterday.
I am so very impressed.
Terry was fabulous with communication. He walked me through everything since I've never owned a tortoise of any kind before.
Thank you, Terry!!!!
You're the best!

Recently picked up a CR hatchling from Terry and let me say i am very impressed. he ate greens and was exploring his new habitat 20 minutes out of the shipping box. Terry is the man to talk to about Redfoots and is an awesome person to chatwith on the phone.
Thanks again, Terry! :-)

I have a lovely little red footed tortoise called Henry
rescued from the previous owners who neglected him
I believe he's around 3 years old and measure's around 5" from head to tail
He's a cheeky little sole and loves to be petted and wiggles his bum when we stroke him
:-)

I adopted a redfoot that needed a home. I always wanted a tortoise. However, in your opening picture, my redfoot looks like the one on the right and not like it should look. What should I do to help him? Barbara

I just bought my wife a red foot for her birthday. She is a turtle fanatic and as it turns out I have taken a liking to her as well. We are still learning and this website has been a tremendous help as far as dieting, housing and other questions we have had.

Hi,
My husband's name is Turtle. Peggy has told me more than once that I should check out your Web site, that I would enjoy it. She's right. I did. (But I think I'll let my Turtle have tomato when he wants it.)
Peace be,
Deanna
